Power Hour
Cuireadh tús leis an 'Power hour' sa scoil i Meán Fómhair 2012. Bíonn an 'Power Hour' ar siúl ag daltaí rang 1.
'Power Hour' is an intensive literacy programme lasting 45 minutes daily for 6 to 16 weeks. Pupils rotate from station to station where 3 teachers from the special education team, as well as the class teacher, work on a different aspect of literacy for the 45 minutes. They work on phonological awareness, oral language, reading fluency, reading comprehension spelling and/or creative writing. each Power Hour programme is tailored to the individual needs of pupils.
